I am changing my alternator right now and I cant find the belt tensioner. Where is it?

most cars these days have a spring loaded belt tensioner, no need to adjust, it will be a pully that the belt rides on , u will need a pry bar to move pully to get belt off , should be a way to insert pry bar on pully mechanism, it will be a pully that does nothing but ride on belt good luck

It is the idler pulley not attached to anything else. To release tension you need a tool that you can borrow from Auto Zone or Kragen.at no cost to you. If still not sure where it is when you get the tool ask the store clerk to show you.
